This is what most helmets looks like when we begin the paint process including the shield, hardware, decals, vent pieces, etc. Prep work begins by removing these items, masking off the interior and sanding the clear coated factory paint to a dull finish.
This step shows the rubber and interior masked off, the factory white paint has been sanded and fine tape lines applied separating the colors.
As you can see, the Neon Vermillion/Red and Yellow colors have been applied and the next step is the Metallic Silver pinstriping. A few masking steps were added after this picture was taken in order to cover a few white areas.
All base colors have been applied, kiwi shapes on the top have been airbrushed and the helmet completely unmasked. We then lightly sand the helmet in order to cut down paint edges and create mechanical adhesion for the clear coat to adhere properly. One final step before the clear coat application was adding a small black pinstripe on the forehead sponsor block and the name painted on the left and right sides.

The clear coats were applied, the helmet heat cured for one hour, minor dust particles buffed out, rubber/interior unmasked and the shield installed, this is the completed helmet!! After these pictures were taken, we also installed the HANS anchors and radio kit. Ready to Race!!
